(Course materials)
1. MOTION:  The Faculty Senate approves that students who enroll in (and pass) the pilot sections and labs of the proposed Great Ideas in Science course during summer C and fall 2010 be permitted to count this course and lab toward the completion of the Life or Physical Sciences University Core Curriculum requirement.
2. MOTION:   The Faculty Senate approves the inclusion of the following courses into the University Core Curriculum to satisfy the indicated requirements:

  • “Our Coastal Environment: From the Bay to the World”
    to satisfy either the Life Sciences or Physical Sciences requirement.
  • "Foundations of Global Learning in Humanities: How We Know What We Know"
    to satisfy the Humanities requirement.
  • “Artistic Expressions in Global Society”
    to satisfy the Arts requirement.
  • “International Nutrition, Public Health and Economic Development”
    to satisfy the Social Inquiry, Societies and Identities requirement.
  • “Loosening Cultural Comfort, Gaining Global Perspectives”
    to satisfy the Social Inquiry, Societies and Identities requirement.

D.  Ad Hoc Global Learning Curriculum Oversight Committee Report-Gail Hollander, Chair(Course materials)
1. MOTION:  The Faculty Senate approves the assignment of Global Learning designation to the following courses: “Our Coastal Environment: From the Bay to the World”, “International Nutrition, Public Health and Economic Development”, "Foundations of Global Learning in Humanities: How We Know What We Know", “Artistic Expressions in Global Society”, “Loosening Cultural Comfort, Gaining Global Perspectives”.
2. MOTION:  The Faculty Senate approves the Revised Student Learning Outcomes
